For webdesign there are various techniques available, luckily these can be combined easily.

One of the questions in our intake meeting is "for which browsers must the site be suitable". If your target audience is in countries with a low internet speed, there are a few restrictions we need to consider. Not all technologies are suitable for the older browsers (IE4 or 5). Luckily these differences are getting smaller as more people use the latest W3C compatible browsers, certainly in The Netherlands.

There are also a few things you need to consider for the content management part. Our on-line text editor works on most modern browsers but is extendable with many options.

Our system uses languages as JavaScript and PHP. The content of the website is stored in a database (SQL). These languages and components are used by more than 80% of the site builders.
